Me @ a Glance

It’s a dilemma to be in; the situation wherein one has to tell about oneself. I am not an expert in blowing my own trumpets; I would rather leave it on my work. But since it’s the beginning of this interface with you all, it’s better I share my personal and professional details.

A civil engineer by education, I started my career with Ansal’s. Here, I got the opportunity to work and grow with very dedicated and distinct set of people. Subsequently, I rose to the position of CEO of the retail arm there. I consider myself blessed to have worked on the first organized retail effort in the real estate, Ansal Plaza Delhi. It was a big challenge that brought with it a lot of learning. But there was an internal call to move on, so I joined, Vikram Bakshi, MD Mc Donalds and helmed mall projects there. A year on from there Unitech came calling. As Retail Head, Unitech it gives me utter inner satisfaction to have unleashed two very complex and first of its kind properties in the country i.e. retail coupled with Leisure and Amusement. Metrowalk- Rohini and The Great India Place- Noida (the biggest operative mall in the country) are the highlights of my career. Currently, I am with DLF and serving the largest developer in the country as Vice President, Development.

I hope I didn’t get carried away. On a personal level, I am blessed to have a very understanding and ever supportive life partner in Nidhi. Our mutual life has been beautifully complimented by these three kids of ours; Anurag, Astha and Aditi. Anurag and Astha are in US for their study and this gives us a chance to be there with them for some good 2-3 weeks a year.

Initially, I used to like traveling as it provided me with the chance to catch up with my ever elusive sleep. But how and when it turned into a passion I am unable to recall? My regular visits abroad and through the length and breadth of the country enables me to assimilate different cultures and an entire new world. I try my best to learn through them and adapt the good things absorbed, in my work as well in my life. I am a people’s person to the core. It’s the guidance, support and encouragement of my colleagues, friends and family members that I have been able to scale up the corporate ladder and this tower of life, in whatever little way I may have. Likewise, I try to support, educate and exhort my team members and new entrants in the corporate world to the best of my ability.

The idea of this initiative of mine (blog) is not business networking. Neither do I intend to indulge myself in self praise. I am trying to catch up with the things and issues that have taken a back seat in this always busy professional and family life of mine. Among other things, I would particularly try to spread awareness and gather support for this drive for cleanliness of mine. I hope I am able to communicate the message. Time for leave taking, will catch you guys up shortly……..CIAO
